About Scarborough Ortho and Sport

I am really excited to bring physical therapy to NXGen Fitness Center. My goal as your physical therapist is to guide you through the healing process, teach you how to manage your condition, and be a resource as you transition from rehab to performance. During PT sessions we will work together to restore quality movement, strength, balance, comfort and keep you active at every phase of recovery. I believe moving well and being strong are two key components to healthy living, regardless of age and activity level.

Treatment sessions are scheduled one to one, giving you the attention needed to maximize each appointment. Individualized exercise programs are a consistent element of my treatment plans and I believe educating you on your condition is crucial for success and preventing re-injury. My treatment style balances guided exercise with manual techniques. My approach takes into account you and your goals, not just your injury in isolation.  NXGen provides the ideal environment for a guided exercise progression and a seamless transition from rehab to performance.

As an athlete I have experienced my share of sidelining injuries. Rehabbing and recovering from an injury can be challenging and stressful. The information, guidance and encouragement I provide, will help you feel confident at every phase of recovery. If you have any questions or think my approach to PT is right for you, give me a call or stop in and see me at NXGen.  Scarborough Ortho and Sport PT is an out of network provider, therefore you do not need a doctor's referral to schedule an appointment.

My dedication to post graduate studies, review of current research and years of clinical experience provides the foundation for my comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning.  I am a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, certified in the McKenzie method of mechanical evaluation and treatment, and also carry a certification in dry needling.
I truly enjoy helping guide people through the rehabilitation process, providing skilled care and the information needed to help individuals meet their goals.

Your first visit is an evaluation. The evaluation starts with questions. This aIlows me to fully understand the history of your current condition and how it's impacting you and your goals. The evaluation includes a physical exam to assess your movement quality, strength, and balance to name a few areas. Upon completion of an evaluation, a PT diagnosis is established and a treatment plan is created to meet your goals.

$90

Follow up visits are scheduled after your initial evaluation. Each individualized session is 45 minutes long. The cost of your follow up visit is a reflection of the time spent in therapy and not based on treatments provided.

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

No, you do not need a referral. Maine is an open access state, which means you do not need a referral from a physician to start physical therapy.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Scarborough Orthopedic and Sports PT is an out of network provider and utilizes a direct-pay model. A direct-pay model allows me to provide services for half the cost of most clinics. At Scarborough Ortho and Sport Physical Therapy, treatments are based on the need of each individual. The cost of each visit is based on the time spent with your therapist and not based on treatments provided. There are no third party insurance reviews, network restrictions and visit limits. Most insurance companies have high deductibles, co-payments, and then limit your PT benefit.

CAN I REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY?

Scarborough Ortho and Sports PT will provide you with a visit summary, billing codes, charges and meets professional standards as well as insurance company requirements for requesting reimbursement. Many insurance companies have easy, online processes for submitting a claim.

I encourage you to reach out to your insurance company if you are planning on seeking reimbursement. The information provided here is an overview of the steps you can take to request reimbursement from your insurance company. There is no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse charges.

WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?

As a new patient we will start with an evaluation, discuss how PT can help you meet your goals and map out our treatment plan. Treatment frequency and duration will be discussed at your first visit. Completing the new patient questionnaire helps me to use our time together more efficiently. I also ask that you wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving in.
